Pakistan First vs Brooklyn Challengers
The first game of the Big 3 Tournament was supposed to go one sided and it looked that way when Pakistan First won the toss and elected to bat. Umer Farooq and Bilal Ahmed started the things off and as usual Umer went after the bowlers from ball as he blasted two 4’s and four 6’s on only 18 balls to score his 36 runs. Things didnt get an easier after Umer left as Ravi Inder Singh picked up the pace right away as he scored 78 runs on only 39 balls with five 4’s and seven 6’s. Bilal Ahmed and Salik Iqbal played the anchor roles as they scored 23 and 34 runs and Pak First scored 199 runs in their allocated 20 overs. Muhammad Afzal was the pick of the bowler as bowled 4 overs and took one wicket for 23 runs.
It was expected that Brooklyn Challenger will fold rather quickly as the first wicket fell to Jessy Singh in the second over but then Muhammad Afzal and specially Badar Shabbir took the fight to Pak First. Badar Shabbir missed his century by 6 runs as he got out for 94 to Adnan Naseem. Badar scored his 94 on 64 balls with five 4’s and eight 6’s. Challengers lost the game by 27 runs.
